Andover Film Club’s new season kicks off on Monday September 6th at the Reel with a smash-hit Bollywood movie.

“My Name is Khan” (cert 12A), released earlier this year, has broken a number of box-office records both at home in India and overseas. The film works on several levels, combining a love story with a more serious examination of the challenges faced by Muslims in post-9/11 America. The show starts earlier than usual at 7.45pm, and as always the presentation is open to the public as well as club members.

Continuing with its theme of bringing unusual films to Andover, the club moves on to host a special “Evening of Shorts” at The Lights on Tuesday September 14th. The programme will give the local audience an opportunity to see a range of thought-provoking short films from around the world. Tickets are available from the Lights box office and the evening will start at 7.30pm.
