In an exciting new development,
Andover Film Club’s next programme at the Reel on February 1st will not only present the much-acclaimed British movie, Somers Town, but also showcase the work of local film maker Iain Friar.

Based in Basingstoke, Iain uses computer graphics technology to create short narrative movies. He enjoyed considerable success in 2009 with his short film “Clockwork”, which won several animation awards, including the Grand Prize at MachinExpo, and has been shown in festivals as far afield as the Philippines. The Film Club is delighted to enable the Andover audience to hear a brief talk from Iain and see an example of his work on the big screen

Somers Town (cert 12A), directed by BAFTA award-winning director Shane Meadows, tells the story of two teenagers thrown together in contemporary London. Shot in black and white, it won the top award at the 2008 Edinburgh Film Festival.

The programme starts at 0815pm, and a highly interesting evening is in prospect, which as ever is open to the public as well as Club members.
