Welcome to Andover Film Club

Club films are open to the public as well as members and are held on the first Monday evening of the month.

In an exciting new development, Andover Film Club’s next programme at the Reel on February 1st, 8:15 p.m.  will not only present the much-acclaimed British movie, Somers Town, but also showcase the work of local film maker Iain Friar.

Based in Basingstoke, Iain uses computer graphics technology to create short narrative movies. He enjoyed considerable success in 2009 with his short film “Clockwork”, which won several animation awards, including the Grand Prize at MachinExpo, and has been shown in festivals as far afield as the Philippines. The Film Club is delighted to enable the Andover audience to hear a brief talk from Iain and see an example of his work on the big screen

The scope of club presentations is:

  • British independent films
  • Art-house films
  • The finest films of World Cinema
  • Classics that deserve to be seen again on the big screen
